The AM-2607 H.P.T. & Core Vertical Build Engine Stand (GE90PLC-020) is designed to accommodate easy access to those sections of the GE90 engine during build-up and manufacture. Four support leg structures give excellent stand stability as well as even and secure anchorage for the vertical drive system. Vertical motion is accomplished through four mechanically actuated and line shaft driven jack screws. A photo sensing grid is located at approximately twelve feet above finished floor to stop vertical motion if personnel or materials are still below. The system is designed to provide full “walk-around” coverage (along with vertical adjustments) to access virtually all areas of each component being worked on. A paralleling stair configuration is provided for easy platform access. All motor drivers, controls and utility services are standard.
The design, construction and integrity of this unit is in accordance with, and representative of, acceptable commercial manufacturing practices. All tests of the units’ design and structural integrity (proofload, fit & function, etc.) have been completed on the first unit and documented in accordance with all requirements.
The vertical build stand is powered by a single 460V/three-phase motor. All motor control wiring is 120V/single-phase with main control panel located at ground level, and a push-button control station located on the hand rail at deck level. Compressed air is provided by hose reels at deck level which are connected to the building’s main source. Electrical outlets for 120V power tools are also provided at deck level.
