  The AM-1697 system provides full QEC engine clotheslining and major module separations for service, maintenance, and overhaul operations. Hanger tooling is available for CF6-80C2 and most other engines.

One independent work station per gantry span. Multiple spans are possible per gantry system. Many different safety features are designed in. The load frame (one assembly per bay) is the main support for all powered hoists, manual trollies, hangers, and necessary hardware. Each load frame assembly is capable of a vertical travel of 43".

Center beam of the load frame has two powered hoists of 6,000 Lbs. capacity each, and is mounted on its own powered trolley for lateral movement. Each of the two outboard beams of the load frame is equipped with four non-powered trolleys with a load capacity of 4,000 Lbs. each. Standard equipment includes fluorescent light fixtures which are located outside of each outboard beam.

The AM-1802/2563 Engine Handling System is designed to transport, and/or store the CFM International CFM56-3 Engine in QEC configuration. The engine handling system is compliant with CFMI Specification KXTO 4854 (Technical Specification for CFM56-3 Engine Shipping Stand). It is capable of being shipped (with engine) in the main deck cargo bays of B747F, B767F, MD11F, Transall, L100 Hercules, CL44 Guppy, and A300-600F Aircraft. The engine pins securely into place quickly and easily. Bootstrapping capabilities have been incorporated into the cradle design. A document container is secured to the cradle for all manuals and documents.

The transport base consists of a frame weldment supported by four shock absorbing caster assemblies. Each caster assembly offers a 5 inch wide by 10 inch diameter wheel for easy mobility and a weight capacity of 5,000 pounds each. Polyurethane tread wheels, position locks, and face brakes are standard. All four caster assemblies are designed to pin in an elevated position for air/truck transport of the entire unit, with engine. The tow bar stows on the base frame when not in use. Maximum towing speed of the unit is 5 km/h (3 MPH). Built-in shock absorbing mounts cushion all transport shocks and vibrations. A series of tie-down rings offer secure retainment during transportation of unit. Universal bases purchased prior to 1998 (serial numbers 101 thru 443) must have service bulletin 98-118 incorporated, otherwise, damage to the gearbox case will occur (see manual section 11.0).

The cradle consists of a steel weldment with tubular arms that support the engine ground handling mounts. The base consists of a steel weldment with retractable casters and integral shock mount assemblies for truck shipping. The cradle and base pin together using four safety pins.

The AGSE-E082 Universal Shipping Cradle consists of a steel welded frame with removable ground handling mounts compatible with the Trent 500 and Trent 700 Engine in modified QEC configuration. The mounts attach to the Core Intercase and Rear Turbine Housing. Tubular arms support the engine handling mounts. The aft mount supports pivot and react only vertical loads. The cradle pins securely to the base in either the air ship (lowered) or truck ship (raised) position. The mount supports fold to minimize empty shipping volume, and allow for stacking the empty stands. Multiple configurations of the AGSE-E082 are available. The -G01 and -G07 include only Trent 500 ground handling mounts. The -G02 and -G08 include only Trent 700 ground handling mounts. The -G03, -G09 and -G10 include mounts for both engines. -G01, -G02 and -G03 have an adjustable diagonal brace where the -G07, -G08, -G09 and G10 have a fixed length diagonal brace.
The AGSE-E079 Shipping Base consists of a steel welded frame with integral shock mounts to dampen ground handling shocks and vibrations when transporting the full engine. A manually driven ball screw system allows the cradle to raise and lower (depending on air or truck shipment configuration). A96 x 125 inch pallet with relief cutout for fan case clearance is included. Retractable shock absorbing casters are included with stand. The base contains fork channels located to allow fork lifting with the engine in the truck shipping position only (fork lock-outs cover the pockets when the cradle is in the air ship position). Two containers (one for spare ground handling mounts and the other for the drain mast and documents) are secured to the base.

The GE 9C6031-P01 Split Engine Components Shipping Container is designed to accommodate those sections of the GE90 -115B engine. When shipping a split engine (Propulsor on 9C6025 and Fan Stator Case on the 9C6015, a container is required to store and ship the various engine components that must be removed. This is designed for those components. It is used in conjunction with the 9C6028 Container that houses the fan blades.

Unit is designed to transport components to/from work and installation locations in a safe and secure manner. Unit offers a fiberglass cover which is water tight and secured in place on a metal fabricated base assembly. Document storage receptacle and view port included.

Hoist rings (4) are built into the top of the fiberglass cover and are to be utilized in removal/installation of only the cover.

The 9C6025-P02/P03 (AGSE p/n AGSE-E102-G02/G03) Transport Stand is designed to transport and/or store the General Electric GE90-94B and -115B series engines see section 3.2 below. The stand consists of a base and an engine support structure, cradle. The cradle separates from base for bootstrapping for quick engine change. The cradle may be raised or lowered to accommodate transport and or fan separate/mate requirements. Integral to the base are 4 jacks for leveling, stabilizing and raising the stand to retract casters. The jacks are operated by manual hydraulic pump. Integral to the cradle is a hydraulic cable lift system operated by manual pump and/or optional air-operated hydraulic pump. Forward mount adapters for both -94B and -115B engines are stored on the base. The 9C6030 Fan Transfer Stand is required for fan stator separate/mate procedure.

The 9C6025-P02 and the 9C6025-P03 are the same with the except of the 9C6025-P03 has special 94B forward propulsor mounts to be used with the AGSE G028 gantry system with T050 tooling.

When requesting a quote, please specify if you require the automatic air lift system PPK and which configuration P01 or P02 is required for your maintenance operation.

The AGSE “Loadmaster” is a unique concept in casters specifically designed to provide shock protection, load equalization, and support for heavy loads- unavailable from conventional casters. The
5" wide polyurethane wheels on these casters are mounted on an offset shock absorption system consisting of four heavy duty die springs. The “Knee Action” design keeps the casters ON THE FLOOR over uneven surfaces and ensures load sharing by all casters, reducing individual caster overload and premature failure. In addition, the “Loadmaster” caster provides excellent secondary protection for fragile loads by reducing shock inputs induced during towing operations. These casters are used primarily for jet engine transport equipment.
All “Loadmaster” casters are standard equipped with foot operated brakes and four-position swivel locks. Wheel diameters come in 10, 12, 14, and 16 inch sizes.

All "Loadmaster" casters may be ordered with optional brake release handle bumpers by adding the suffix "-B" to the basic model part number. The bumpers provide hand protection when releasing the face brakes.

The AM-1361 Air/Truck Shipping Stand is designed for transport (on air ride truck and trailer ) of the Pratt and Whitney JT8D-209/217 jet engine. The stand consists of two major assemblies; the base and the cradle which are connected together through shock mount  ssemblies. This supports the load at the forward and aft yokes. Engine pins securely into place quickly and easily.

Bootstrapping capabilities are available if specified. A document container is secured to the base for all manuals and documents.

The natural frequency of the suspension system has been designed to fall in the range of 7 to 10 Hz as specified by the Pratt and Whitney PPS 1717B dated 15 July, 1981. Each stand is equipped with a set of 18 inch riser adapters for engine build-up of accessory items.

The Self Erecting, Air Transportable, Gantry Type Split Engine Transport System was first pioneered by AGSE in 1973. This system enables an airline to ship a spare engine in the lower forward cargo compartment of a regularly scheduled, wide body passenger or freight configured aircraft with a 96 inch or wider door. Split system may also be transported in any of the narrow body, main deck freighters. This method of shipment is used for moving a serviceable engine to an aircraft which has experienced an engine failure, and it has been determined, not to be economical to ferry the aircraft. This system is also utilized for movement of spare engines from the engine manufacturer or overhaul agency to the airlines main operating base or line station where pooling is planned. When examining the costs of chartering an aircraft or paying for pallet positions for shipping the engine upright, it will be seen how the gantry type split engine system can pay for itself in very few shipments.
